I am not a fan of curved brush as I find it challenging to use, but I am totally head over heel when it comes to EL double wear mascara – It’s the longest wearing mascara known to mankind ( well, at least LPB ).

I bought this compact foundation after reading Joey’s blog – she was all radiant & immaculately vitalised despite her busy schedule during her recent trip to Melbourne.

I use shade 2. This powder does provide a sheer to medium coverage after I had buffed this on ( I used the brush provided, an average brush but can be too harsh to be used around the eyes ). Nutritious has an average sebum controlling effect, with minimal creasing. It’s not the best pore concealing powder.

My skin does look healthier & more revitalised with this powder foundation but it will not surpass my favourite Chanel Vitalumiere compact foundation.

Peach coloured and nicely scented, I leave it to do its work for ten minutes or so, and then tissue off – don’t wash, as what’s left on will continue to moisturise all day (or night).

My Retin-A treated skin is calmed, lubricated & replenished instead of the usual parched, reddened & flaky appearance. It’s convenient to use – I just slapped a reasonable layer on & let  my thirsty skin drink up all the goodness.

I even find this a great lips mask, it softens fine lines & plumps up lips like miracle.

My face is cream soft & peachy firm the next morning, thanks to EL Triple Creme.

I prefer the texture of this new & improved ANR eye cream; more dense & gluey, yet feels so light and blendable. It looks & almost feels like an eye primer to me, of course with all the skin caring benefits of Estee Lauder ANR formulation.

I haven’t used this long enough  to comment on it’s wrinkle diminishing capability. However, this gel serum is great at smoothing out fine lines & reducing puffiness.  I personally think that this synchronised complex ( new version ) is more moisturising than its predecessor.

Again, I quite like using it as an eye primer ( you could practically apply powdered eyeshadows over it without waiting for it to be absorbed, as it sinks right into the skin )

LPB July 2010 Favourites

These are my rescue remedies this month, as I was having a bad cold and dare I say, I was looking ghastly and had to rely on these miracle products in order not to scare people away.

Eve Lom cleanser‘s astringency aroma is great at clearing congested skin & sinuses as well, the massaging action and muslin cloth help boost sluggish circulation. Shiseido Revital cleansing foam is mild & gentle, it also contains hyaluronic acid granules to replenish my patchy skin during washing.

Sisley Express Flower Gel & Eye Contour Mask are lifesavers; absolutely stunning  at rehydrating, refreshing, decongesting, lifting & brightening complexion. These should be on prescription!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair needs no introduction, great at repairing & boosting skin. SK II Cellumination Deep Surge & Skin Signature provide the much needed illumination, nourishment & vitality to my swallow complexion.

Frizzy hair was kept under control with Moroccanoil treatment.

Sometimes, an infirm will be desperate for a magical wand to rid of all his suffering & misery. Well, my pray was partially answered. Those amazing pens ( By Terry VIP Expert Foundation & Touche Veloutee ) work wonders on my complexion – a well rested, radiant complexion was granted instantly.

I used Chantecaille Lip Chic, M.A.C Stereo Rose & Shiseido Luminizing Satin eyeshadow to add some colour back to my washed out face /soul.

I might be coughing & sneezing, but I need to smell fabulous. Acqua Di Parma Magnolia Nobile is my favourite of the month.

LPB June 2010 Favourites

Items I can’t stop loving & using this month :

For warm summer months, I tend to ” holy go lightly ” on face creams. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief never fails to deliver a bath of hydrating freshness & relief to my skin, whether it’s burned or not ( hopefully not with the religious use of sun block ).

On nights when I need extra pampering, I will treat myself with Clarins Multi Active Nuit; Enveloping myself in a soothing & nurturing environment.

I never neglects my eyes & lips, even when the temperature rises. Instead, I tend to slather on eye balm & lip balm. I am currently using Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream, as a treatment and an indispensable gloss. Chanel Hydramax+ Active Nutrition Lip Care keeps my lips soft & supple, which is important as I like strong, vivid lips when the sun is out.

My make up rules for summer are  – Be safe, Be bold and Be selective.

I always ensure I have enough sun protection before heading out. Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation has an SPF of 20; simply needs to be buffed on for a refined finish that offers sheer to medium coverage.

Estee Lauder Aeromatte Pressed Powder is light & easy, again, I use this for a perfectly bare but impeccably buffed style.

Chanel Rouge Allure Genial is a great pick me up coral when I want to play up my lips. NARS Burn It Blue rises to the occasion when my eyes want to be in the lime light.

MAC blushers in bright pink ( like fashion frenzy ) are my favourites when it’s time for a dramatic cheek. Otherwise, a sweep of Bobbi Brown Antigua Bronzer will keep me looking healthy & radiant.

I also use Yves Saint Laurent Golden Gloss in Petal quite a lot this month. Its shimmery finish is mesmerising.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge mascara is a must have when temperature & humidity are soaring.

Of course, my fragrance becomes lighter & fresher; Jo Malone Pine & Eucalyptus Living Cologne is my current pick.

I am more diligent about deep cleansing & exfoliating in the summer months. Clinique Anti Blemish Solution Oil Control Cleansing Mask , Clinique Turnaround Radiance Peel are the products I turned to when I want detoxification & desquamation. ( Of course, I don’t use them together – over peeling  & the resultant irritation is not fun )

Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia Collection

I am officially obsessed with blue.

I can’t wait for the Dahlia eye palette to be available over the counter.

This promotional photo also got me excited about bronzer & cheek bone sculpting.

Note to self : Must buy NARS burn it blue eyeshadow, Benefit Bad Gal blue mascara.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Night

Another limited edition collection from Estee Lauder.

“ I wanted to create the iconic French makeup look; the black smokey eye, dewy skin and kissable lip. ”-Tom Pecheux.

“ I wanted to create the ultimate in French sensuality and sexiness — black eyeshadow for a naughty, smokey eye; highlighter for a healthy glow and lips that men will not be afraid to kiss. ”

The Pure Color Ombre Effect Eye Shadow is called Naughty Black – a trio of matte, shimmer and sparkle in black/brown shades – created with the thought of an evening in Paris.

The Pure Color Luminous Powder in shade Highlight is incredibly fine and lightweight in a creamy texture.  It adds a sensual glow to your face.

The Pure Color Lip Gelée in color Kiss Me is a nude rose tint giving the mouth a wet-bitten look for a seductive, kiss-me look.

I am tempted to try Highlight – I mean, creamy texture powder ? The shade seems to suit light to medium skin tone and versatile enough to be used as a blusher or sculpting powder; I also like the polished bare lips finish, but I find EL glosses too heavily scented for my liking, I hope lip gelee would be an exception.

Although it’s marketed as ” Pure Colour Night “,  luminous powder & lip gelee come very handy if you want to achieve the low maintenance but well kept look. Of course, you could always glam-it-up with a smouldering eyes for the ultimate Parisian chic.

Estee Lauder Blue Dahlia

My obsession with blue continues……

Pecheux’s new Pure Color Collection of eye shadows that features a wide selection of high-impact shades, complete with long-lasting pigments and fade-resistant formulas. Four dynamic finishes : matte, satin, luminous and metallic.

“Make-up is not a tattoo,” Pecheux underlines. “If you make a mistake, you can just take it off. It should be playful, and women shouldn’t be afraid to experiment.

“So if the eye palette in Blue Dahlia is too intimidating, try just a blue mascara, or a blue eyeliner. The point is not to change your entire make-up from one day to another; it’s to update it. So keep most of what you have, but add a little blue in somewhere. It’s a suggestion, not an order.”

Pity I have to wait till Fall 2010 before I could get my hands on EL Blue Dahlia.
