Make up artist Pat McGrath worked with D&G to create the collection that was inspired by their 2011 runway collection.
” We wanted to reflect the Sicilian culture with a fresh interpretation. We began by imagining a young bride’s hope chest, full of treasures from the past and the present that are the key to her future. To capture this moment of purity and deep passion, the moment when a woman’s future beckons was so challenging… yet, in the end, the collection evolved so naturally, it could work for any significant passage of a woman’s life. “
“ Capturing the joy, exultation and the extremes of our rich heritage – and making it very modern; that was our goal. This led to a palette emphasizing the ultimate contrast: soft fragile tones with bold, almost brazen highlights. We even chose names for the shades that are symbolic of the relics, the rituals of Sicily – sole, passione, acqua, luna. The look we wanted to convey was the kind of dream state when a woman’s dreams are full of hope, desire and passion. ”
