Holiday 2010 Gift Ideas

Posted on

Some ideas for the last minute shoppers:

Nicely packaged, delicately fragranced soap is great as stocking fillers and lovely gifts for female relatives of certain age.

Skin care sets, especially those from niche brand will be greatly appreciated by beauty junkies; They’re great for travelling as well – so go on treat yourself .

Funky make up kit is always a hit with girls/younger colleagues.

I personally believes that you should only treat someone you know really really well with fragrance gift set, as perfume is very personal.

Of course, you should splurge on this if you decided to do so.

Becca Resurfacing Primer

Posted on

Prepare and seal your skin with this invisible Resurfacing Primer which instantly reduces the appearance of dilated pores and smoothes fine lines for a flawless finish. Applied on its own or under foundation, the velvety matte formulation helps to control unwanted shine with its special oil absorbing polymers which act as ‘fillers’ to create a refined base for makeup that will last all day.

Evermat with Oleanolic Acid to minimize pore size, refine skin texture and reduce surface shine

Glycerin to maintain hydration

Alcohol-free, Paraben-free, Fragrance-free.

To my surprise, BRP doesn’t leave a matt powdery finish; In fact, It has a creamy texture and leaves a veil of moisture & a rather dewy finish to enhance the application of powdery foundation thereafter. I think this can be too heavy if you’re using a liquid foundation ( unless it’s an oil free one ) as you could see from the ingredients list that Becca Resurfacing Primer actually contains a lot of oil.

In terms of line blurring & pore minimising, BRP’s performance is slightly above average. It does helps my foundation to last an hour or two longer & reduces oily breakthrough ( shall I say delays instead ).

For the price Becca is charging, £32/$40, I would expect more!

After a brief collaboration with Cyndy this year, Lady Gaga is going solo next year when it comes M.A.C Viva Glam lipstick. I like the peachy coral lipstick she’s wearing in this editorial.
