Botanical extracts & active ingredients in ADAY include :
Apple skin extract – antioxidant, protects collagen and elastin fibers
White Willow extract – stimulates the production of natural anti-stress proteins
Sesame and rice extracts – improve the intercellular connection
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – widely used sunscreen
Squalane – natural organic compound used in cosmetics as a natural moisturizer (mostly comes from shark liver oil)
Corylus Americana seed oil –hazel seed oil
Butyrospermum Parkii – shea butter
Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane -ingredient used in sunscreen to absorb the full spectrum of UVA
As I said, Sisley ADAY surpasses its ecological compound by light years. ADAY is a much lighter daytime moisturiser that actually has anti-aging properties ( SPF ).
Compared to most sunscreen enhanced moisturisers, ADAY smells more ” botanical “, I could still detect a very faint chemical scent upon application ( though only lasted a few seconds ). This yogurt like textured lotion is rather spreadable, non sticky, non occlusive and dries to a demi matte finish.
I coupled this with Sisley’s serum ( usually Radiance Anti-Age ) and this combination does leaves my skin soft & protected.
In summary, ADAY is an expensive sunblock for the face that has a better aroma & finish; It may facilitates subsequent make up application but I will not use it alone. You wouldn’t just use sunblock alone on a daily basis, would you ? ADAY needs to be supplemented by a serum underneath, and whether ADAY is worth its price is debatable.
