MAC Pret-a-Papier Collection – Summer 2010

Posted on

Although I might not be a big fan of M.A.C latest pret-a-papier collection, I did purchase a few items from this range as they are basic enough for daily use, regardless of time of the day or season of the year.

Groundwork paint pot –  creamy neutral taupe, has a subtly shimmering effect; It doesn’t crease,  acts as a great eye base or primer; It is really easy to apply & smudge ( I use my finger ) over the lids.

Memorabilia matte eyeshadow – described as  a dirty purple, definitely looks more dense & intense in the compact; gives a sheer, adjustable wash of greyish lilac.

Gazette Grey velvet eyeshadow – dark green-grey with gold pearl; glittery deep shade ideal for smudging, I use it wet as an eyeliner.

Garb Sheertone blush – my current favourite, it’s like NARS Orgasm without the golden shimmers. It’s impossible to be too heavy handed when applying this , if you have very fair to light skin tone, you could also use this for coutouring purpose.

Brown Bag cream nail lacquer – warm dirty beige, my rescue remedy for Chanel’s Particuliere withdrawal syndrome.

  1. Love the nail polish shade! This is a collection that would most definitely suit you in terms of palette of nuances. On my skin most of these shades would not even be visible…. Nothing spectacular, as you’ve pointed out yourself, but great for everyday use if you’re a lighter skin type.

  2. I wonder what scent would match this… I was tempted to say PG’s Payrus de Ciane, but that smells like anything but paper, it’s annoyingly green and sharp… maybe Au Lac by Eau d’Italie… that one does have a slight papyrus note in the base, however, almost completely overpowered by flowers, and the bottle is a square nightmare – even though it’s pink. The closest to brown paper smell would be Santal Blanc, but that’s still too sweet for what I have in mind. Wait, I know!!!!!!!1 It’s In the Library by I Hate Perfume! Have you ever tried that one? It’s amazingly cheap, but over the top original. That’s exactly what that girl with the paper bow in her hair should be smelling like!
