Chanel Antaeus

Posted on

An unmistakably masculine presence. Lean, lithe and potent – just like its namesake.

Created by Jacques Polge in 1981, this chypre EDT is my new found love.

It’s a plain old dirty, sexy, smoky, animalistic EDT; This leathery scent has a rather seductive dry down.

Top Notes: Clary Sage, Myrtle

Middle Notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood

Base Notes: Labdanum, Beeswax Absolute

Antaeus, in Greek mythology was a giant, the son of Poseidon and Gaia; He would challenge travellers to wrestling matches, kill them, and collect their skulls, so that he might one day build out of them a temple to his father Poseidon. He was invincibly strong as long as he remained in contact with the ground (his mother earth), but once lifted into the air he became as weak as other men.

Hercules, finding that he could not beat Antaeus by throwing him to the ground, as he would regain his strength and be fortified, discovered the secret of his power and, holding Antaeus aloft, crushed him in a bearhug.

Well, this Chanel EDT is certainly potent enough to take my breathe away !
