Prada Candy

The more daring facets of Prada fashion : Modern, Creative & Colourful !

A new fragrance by Prada will be launched in August 2011. Created and designed by perfumer Daniela Andrier, this passionate and excessive impulsive perfume is called Prada Candy. The composition includes an elegant mix of musks in the top, a sensual balsamic vanillic accord of benzoin in the heart and sweet modern caramel in the base of the fragrance.

Described by WWD as incorporating 12 % Laotian benzoin and features an art deco-inspired bottle in an illustrated package, I think Prada candy could be an either love it or loathe it perfume.

The bottle is ornamented with a Saffiano leather band in bold bright pink shades with the brand logo on it ( I would love it to be detachable, so I could use it as a bracelet )

Prada Infusion de Tubereuse

Posted on

An unexpected mix of tuberose from India, petitgrain bigarade, blood orange from Italy, and luxurious dynamone combine to create Infusion de Tubereuse—a delicate impression of this traditional scent.

A playful tuberose mosaic inspired by an archive Prada print adorns the outer packaging, its charming naivety a reminder of the playfulness within. Instead of green, the leaves appear to have been dipped in a degrade mauve ink.

Tuberose from India: Tuberose is a symbol for creation – intoxicating and penetrating. In Infusion de Tubéreuse, the flowers are delicate and young, like morning buds not yet touched by the sun.

Petitgrain Bigarade: Made from the leaves of the bitter orange tree, petitgrain bigarade is reminiscent of fresh green leaves after the rain.

Blood Orange from Italy: Juicy citrus notes of blood orange from Italy are blended with precision to give a sparkling freshness to the tuberose.

Dynamone: A rare and luxurious ingredient in perfumery, dynamone brings sensuality to Infusion de Tubéreuse. Its woody notes bring the citrus and floral notes into harmony, enabling this fantasy infusion.

The creator of the fragrance perfumer Daniela Andrier said that “Infusion de Tubéreuse uses the fresh green buds of tuberose, rather than the very sweet lactonique mature petals,”

Andrier said that “The idea of Infusion is almost as an imprint of the chosen material in water, a kind of watercolor fragrance reworked with colorful pastel crayon.”

I adore Fracas Tuberose – the heady, sweet & sexy sillage is beyond description. Whereas Prada version is …… well, I choked and felt nauseated when I tried this in store.

Crazy Moments 2009

1 ) Resigned from my could-be-better-paid job; it feels good to tell your boss to fuck off, once in a while.

2 ) Bought a Chanel, a Jimmy Choo, and a Prada bag, all within 2 weeks. At least the Prada bag was on sales.

3 ) Joined the never-ending Q for a 5 minutes shopping in the dedicated Jimmy Choo section in H&M Regent Street. Pink plastic clutch, anyone?

4 ) Tried leggings on, and loved it. Velvet, jersey leggings are so comfortable. Should have got the leather one!

5 ) Enrolled in post graduate distance learning programme, and used my student ID for discount, from apple.com to Topshop. Education sure pays off.

6 ) Flaunting my zebra print jacket; very ” Ab-Fab ” moment. Thank God no one called me Patsy!

7 ) Wearing Chanel Hysteria lipstick, to a Chinese restaurant for Sunday breakfast. Black sesame paste anyone?

8 ) Took the midnight coach, waited in the airport in the early hours, for several hours, all for the sake of cheap flight Air Asia.

9 ) Working on Christmas, Boxing day, Hogmanay & New Year. I love my job.

10 ) Booked 3 vacations in January/February 2010. I need a holiday holidays.

Thomas Lyte Mustard Rucksack

Posted on

I secretly wish rucksack will be the IT item next year; It has been a while since Prada’s nylon version storms the fashion world and miraculously revives the house of PRADA.

The “Martlesham” Rucksack by Thomas Lyte is a modern edition of a well loved classic. Expertly handmade in Mustard Breuninger Leather, and finished with Black Bridle Leather straps, the Martlesham is lined with luxurious Black silk featuring the Lyte flower stream.

The interior is deceptively spacious and includes an internal zip pocket for smaller items. An additional mobile phone pocket is discretely located under the fold-down section of the exterior. The signature Thomas Lyte Pillar Box in Black Bridle Leather reinforces the Martlesham’s robust structure.

At GBP 395,  It’s a steal, and Thomas Lyte is having a promotion right now……

Prada Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger

Posted on

Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger is the first fragrance in Prada’s new Ephemeral Infusion Collection – a limited edition family consisting of one fragrance a year.

Following the artisanal approach of focusing on natural ingredients, the scent is a combination of orange blossom, neroli, mandarin oil, jasmine and tuberose – a heady floral combination that make for a surprisingly delicate & uplifting smell.

Upon first spraying, the sharp note of neroli is rather prominent, followed by petitgrain.

The aldehydic ambience unexpectedly dominating the initially crisp notes. Followed by jasmine, that takes on a fruity and honeyed turn, which contributes to the soapy character of the scent.

A clean musks dry down then concludes this powdered orange flower fragrance.

I find infusion de fleur d’oranger an interesting scent ( caramelised orange ); Not outstanding or groundbreaking, to my disappointment. Anyway, my receptionist loves it.
