Essentials Magazine beauty award 2010 for ‘Best Bath Oil’.

NEOM Luxury Organics bath oils are made using only the finest ingredients and are free from any synthetic products. Like the candles and room mists each bath oil is designed to give you a specific treatment, creating your very own bath spa. As with the cult NEOM Luxury Organics candles, the essential oil content is incredibly high (30%) so a little really does go a long way. This product is best used by placing one to two capfuls in your bath, slipping in for a deep relaxing and luxurious experience. Alternatively apply a similar amount to the body before showering.

70% certified organic ingredients and 30% pure essential oils

Steamcream

Posted on

Steam Cream is made in UK and marketed as a multipurpose cream uniquely formulated using pure, unrefined steam for maximum absorption. And it does exactly what it promises – improves the appearance and softness of the skin.

The power and energy produced by bubbling steam melts and fuses the ingredients together at a speed that defies most traditional cream-making methods. The force and intensity allow the ingredients to emulsify instantly, producing this beautifully textured light and glossy cream.

The result is a soft, luxuriant and glossy cream. STEAMCREAM breaks down immediately on contact with the skin to disperse each ingredient directly to the areas they’re designed to benefit. The emulsion is held together very loosely and gently, allowing the cream to break down immediately on contact with the skin for maximum benefit.

STEAMCREAM refreshes areas of the skin that other creams find hard to reach.

In most creams, the emulsifying process is what holds the ingredients tightly together. It can also stop creams breaking down. Because of this, each ingredient struggles to enter the skin individually. It stays as a blend, moisturising the skin’s surface yet preventing its real benefits from reaching deep into the skin’s molecular structure.

The orange flower water, oatmeal infusion and glycerine hydrate and moisturise deep into the skin. The almond and organic jojoba oils combine with cocoa butter to seal in their goodness, softening the skin’s surface.

The process is topped off with a fragrance created from a natural blend of pure essential oils selected for their toning, soothing and healing qualities.

STEAMCREAM contains the following ingredients:

Oatmeal Infusion – anti-inflammatory, helps soothe and calm the skin.

Orange Flower Water – improves elasticity.

Almond Oil – high levels of vitamin E, anti-oxidant, conditions and keeps skin plump.

Lavender Oil – antiseptic, heals sore skin.

Organic Jojoba Oil – excellent skin moisturiser.

Cocoa Butter – softens the skins surface.

I got 2 tubs of Steamcream ( 10 GBP each ), lovely packaging ( yeah, I got the 2 featured above ) and smells divine. Personally, I think this line is very collectible ( artistically ).

Right, back to the cream itself. Steamcream feels very fresh & light, instantly soothes & calms my skin, very spreadable & doesn’t feels occlusive when used on hands & body.

It’s good enough to nurse & calm my Retin A induced redness & irritation. However, my complexion was rather greasy  a few hours after application of this cream alone.

So, this will probably be my SOS intervention only if I am going to use it on my face; otherwise I am more than happy to slather this all over my body.

My verdict? A great product ( almost therapeutic ) that is very reasonably priced, nicely packaged but not ideal for facial use ( except for dry, atrophic skin ).

DHC Mild Touch Cleansing Oil

Posted on

The new version of shower friendly cleansing oil by DHC! Just like its competitor Fancl, DHC’s Mild Touch Cleansing Oil uses nanotechnology, is able dissolve waterbased and oil based makeup.

Unlike its original version which works only on dry face, the new Mild Touch version works well on dry or wet skin, and contains more water content to make it feels lighter and less occlusive.

DHC Mild Touch is unique as compared to older generation of cleansing oil as:

1) Could be used on damp hand / in the shower

Water in oil emulsification technology  creates the so called gemini / homogenous cleansing system , which cleanses and moisturises skin simultaneously; the presence of water will not affect its superb cleansing capability.

2) Light & Gentle

The watery gel texture offers excellent slippage, dissolving impurities effortlessly, no harsh rubbing needed.

3) Hydrating

Amino acids derivatives help to retain moisture on the skin, rehydrating skin during cleansing.

4) Soothing & Relaxing

Scented with delicate lavender aroma.

The convenience of being able to use this with damp hands accounts significantly to its popularity. Don’t we all hate the idea of ” use with dry hands only “?

Despite what the manufacturer claims, I think Mild Touch is not as good when it comes to removing heavy make up.

Hydrating? Yes.

Thorough cleansing in an easy sweep? I don’t think so ( Second application is much needed for complete removal of long lasting base or waterproof mascara ).

I find the lavender scent rather disturbing; It smells artificial and turns rancid  upon application ( at least on my skin ).
