Les Tissages de Chanel Tweed Corail

Posted on

Right, this will probably be my first post that I am going to show you some FOTD ( Okay, you could jump to the next post if you don’t wanna get shocked by……my face, bare face, almost )

Well, the wonder product I am trying to demonstrate is Chanel’s Les Tissages in Tweed Corail.

Now, here’s the pics where I had just swept some tweed corail onto my just moisturized face sans foundation/concealer……

My apology for the dry patchy lips, but you get the ideal about the healthy flushes & radiant sheen Les Tissages creates ……

PS: These are taken on the day that I am having a flu/cold, where I am feeling lousy & yet my receptionist called me first thing in the morning to ask me to cover my colleagues sick leave.

So, with some help from my Estee Lauder Cyberwhite Brilliant Perfection Brightening compact foundation & a touch of Burberry Khaki Sheer Eyeshadow & Cinnamon Lip Mist, I managed to look human again, I think.

You probably know the hype about NARS Orgasms, I personally prefers Les Tissages de Chanel in Tweed Corail to NARS Orgasms as Tweed Corail imparts more vitality & natural yet incredible glow on my complexion; Without the orangey, metallic sheen of NARS Orgasms.

PS: That awful, stiff, almost fuzzy & harsh brush that comes with Les Tissages is actually GREAT at buffing off those excessive golden shimmers & depositing sufficient pigments in a single stroke. Only use this brush if you’re applying color straight to your cheek prior to any powder/compact application.

That’s my 1st Wonder Wednesday post , folks.

Uber chic & glamorous packaging of Dolce & Gabbana cosmetics.

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but a compact is all about its packaging; Superficial, but IMO a sleek & gorgeous compact is essential.

Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15

Posted on

” Smart ” technology keeps dry areas comfortable, oily areas less shiny. No-waste grinder dispenses skin-defending vitamins with each twist. Fresh-shaved mineral powder clings evenly to skin. Lasts for up to 8 long hours. Includes antibacterial brush.

An encapsulated complex of moisturizing ingredients including Phytosqualane and Murumuru Butter are included to add comfort to dry areas of the face as needed. Oily areas and shine breakthrough are controlled throughout the day thanks to the mineral-rich formula which is sweat and humidity-resistant.

Broad spectrum SPF 15 sun protection is provided with 3:1 UVB/UVA protection. This 3:1 ratio, already mandated in Europe, ensures UVA protection is provided. And, this all physical sunscreen is suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15 Mineral Rich Formula also delivers antioxidant protection – Vitamins C and E protect the skin from environmental aggressors and free radical damage.

This mineral infused product starts off as a compressed powder which is then released as loose powder by a new-to-Clinique compact “ shaver ” ( Elizabeth Arden had done this before ). Each calibrated turn of the shaver allows the perfect amount of fresh powder to be dispensed, providing a controllable dispensary without any spills or wastage sometimes experienced with a traditional loose powder.

Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15 Mineral Rich Formula is enriched with Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium and Zinc to promote healthy skin.

Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free. Oil-Free. Ophthalmologist Tested.

Well, although this smart powder doesn’t feels cakey & irritates my skin ( no clogging, drying, flaking ); has an adequate SPF; nil buffing required and has a great selection of shades ( 8 in total ), It’s not my HG powder makeup due to:

1) It doesn’t last up to 8 hours – It merely stay true for up to 4 hours on my skin, before it slides & oily breakthrough becomes visible.

2) The finish is less refined compared to the rest of the mineral makeup available on the market.

3) The brush that comes with this compact is hideous, and one of the harshest brush even known to mankind – Okay, we all know that little brush incorporated is usually crap, but this is phenomenal ( in a bad way )!

So, I would only recommend this to people who has drier skin, that requires sheer coverage and own a good powder brush.

Chanel Le Blanc Compact

Posted on

Inspired by the fine pearl, the beauty secret of Mademoiselle Chanel and a model of radiance and perfection, Chanel creates Le Blanc: a new whitening range featuring skincare and makeup.

Le Blanc compact foundation prolongs the whitening effect of Le Blanc skincare for a complexion as perfect as a pearl. Its groundbreaking Mineral Ceramic Pigments optically erase imperfections and dark spots for a perfectly even and translucent complexion.

Enriched with the anti-dulling and anti-yellowing action of the Pearl Extract, it brings out the lasting radiance of the complexion. A key whitening ingredient, the Liquorice Extract balances melanin production to enhance a fair complexion. In addition, the Sebum Control Complex ensures a flawless and velvety complexion all day long.

SPF 25 / PA+++ protects the skin from sun rays and helps preserve its original beauty.

A very refined compact foundation that leaves my skin matte & polished with the ease & swipe of a sponge; I call this my instant skin perfecter; Dry application provides sheer finish with luminosity & airbrushed effect while wet application offers enough opacity for medium coverage without appearing unnatural.

I also find Le Blanc compact has a rather excellent sebum controlling capacity; The best part ? It doesn’t oxidise; It doesn’t cakes & creases & wears up to 6 hours before requiring touching up on my skin.

Like most Chanel compact foundations, this is a grade A compact with SPF, now enhanced with skin brightening properties & those sophisticated ceramic pigments. What not to love ?

YSL Matt Touch Compact

This elegant foundation compact is the essential beauty accessory of any season. Silky and oil-free, the lightweight powder caresses skin in a soft smoothing veil, to reveal a luminous matte finish that won’t fade or dry-out.

Unique anti-shine and pore minimizing ingredients help refine skin’s texture and absorb sebum, which keeps your complexion radiant and fresh all day.

The sleek, sophisticated gold case easily slips into a makeup bag for on-the-go touch-ups anytime. Wet-dry application. SPF 20.

It utilizes the synergistic action of 3 active ingredients to create this radiant matte effect. The “Pore Refiner Complex” tightens pores and reduces sebaceous gland activity while white water lily extract helps to purify the skin.

“Hydracaps” continuously release their hydrating properties throughout the day, leaving the skin fresh and supple all day long as coated pigments efficiently protect the color pigment from moisture and perspiration. Finally, anti-shine sebo-sponges control excess oil throughout the day.

The result is an even and luminous complexion with a naturally radiant, long-lasting matte finish.

An extremely finely milled compact powder that evens out the complexion, provides a refined & matt finish without feeling heavy & occlusive. I like the practically of this portable, travel friendly 2 way cake as it could be used wet ( with a moist sponge ) as a foundation or dry as a setting powder.

I like its soft yet semi-matte finish; Together with its pore concealing & sebum controlling capability; Without the conventional dull, opaque, mask like effect. My shade is Sand.

The only down side of this versatile compact foundation is the shade does oxidise a little bit, so go one shade lighter if in doubt.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Moisture Powder Stay-In-Place

Posted on

The powder you’ve been dreaming of, Estee Lauder – Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 14/PA++ . Just like  Its #1 long-wearing liquid foundation, this powder has incredible staying power to keep you looking fresh, poreless and flawless.

A unique powder makeup that allows you to enjoy the silky perfection of powder, without feeling dry. Skin looks luminous, stays flawless for up to 8 hours. A special blend of skin caring ingredients, including rosemary & apricot extracts, plus a moisture binding complex help skin retain its natural moisture.

Adjustable medium to full coverage. Oil free. Fragrance free. Dermatologist tested.

Aldo contains UV sun protection factor.

Specifically  created for Asian skin.

DWMP is a very soft powder that slips on like silk, feels airy & blends impeccably. This ultra light compact powder gives a rather full yet luminous finish. My complexion is instantly perfected as if  it had been airbrushed; Fine lines are softened, pores are minimised and skin tone is unified. It neither feels occlusive nor  appears opaque/mask like despite it’s long wearing formulation & superb coverage.

On my combination to oily skin, shine occurs after 2 hours, but without pigments oxidation ( darkening of shade ). Despite the inevitable oily breakthrough, this foundation doesn’t crease or  ”float”; In fact, it rarely smudges or slides ( I wear spectacles ).

For a product exclusively designed for & marketed in Asia, the shades selection is pretty impressive.

If my skin is a bit drier, this could easily be my HG compact powder.

World Cup & Its Beauty Crisis

Posted on

With the World Cup heating up, here are some life savings beauty products to banish those signs of fatigue & over indulgence :

Puffy eyes – it’s okay to weep when your favourite team is lossing, just make sure you use a great eye tonic to soothe the redness & a cooling gel to get rid of the swelling. I like Liz Earle’s  Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion and Clinique’s All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage.

Dark circles – this kind of sport events could be aired at a very inconvenient time, depends on where you are. The products that I find working are Yves Saint Laurent’s Radiant Touch or Peter Thomas Roth’s Un-Wrinkle Concealer & Brightener.

Until now, I had not came across any eye cream / gel / serum that actually deal with dark circles effectively. Plenty of too good to be true claims but non of these actually deliver, so I am turning to make up products, at least these provide a quick but temporary fix.

Swallow skin tone & sluggish circulation – due to disrupted circadian rhythm, your complexion may suffer from dullness & becomes lack lustre. I like to boost my circulation with Eve Lom’s Rescue Mask, Elemis’s Visible Brilliance.

Chanel’s Vitalumiere Compact Foundation hides a multitude of sins; It’s my must have foundation for jet lag. Also, a cream blusher is more forgiving than the powder version when your skin is not in tip top condition. NARS Multiples or Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Cream Blush are very flattering & easy to apply.

Blemishes – annoying zits will pop out when you are physically & emotionally challenged. I use Peter Thomas Ruth’s  Acne Spot & Area Treatment.

Cellulites – too many drinks & crispy while watching the game ? Start scrubbing & oiling up, you could have a toned physique like some of the players too. I like Elemis’s Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow, Elemental Herbology’s Detox Bath Oil & Clarins Body Shaping Supplement.

LPB Summer’s Nude

Posted on

While I am excited about those bold & beautiful shades of summer 2010, there are times I just want to wear some neutral make up that whisper rather than shout; Here are some of the products I rely on when I want to look fresh, carefree & sunkissed.

My staples for an effortlessly chic look includes Chanel’s Teint Innocent compact foundation ( blended with finger ), Orchid Rose Joues Contraste Powder Blush ( buffed over the apples of cheek ) & Rouge Allure Curious or Naive ( applied directly from tube sans brushing / lining ).

Of course, a coat of waterproof mascara & a spritz of Cristalle Eau Verte would

I wish I could find something as lovely & natural as Les Naturels de Chanel 2009 this summer; Those soft, sophisticated, underplayed yet undeniably chic hues really exemplifies the words of Coco herself when she said “less is more”.

I just want to look good naked ( make up wise ) under the hot summer sun, with some flattering nude shades that makes me look healthy, well rested & contented.
