Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

Posted on

Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. It is described as an updated formula that elevates performance to extend and prolong moisture for a full 12 hours, while taking into account changes in temperature and humidity.

Skin is said to experience a new level of hydration from the very first application, with moisture continuing throughout the day or night.

The lightweight gel dramatically improves skin’s natural moisture retention ability, according to Clinique, addresses the cause and effects of skin dehydration, and penetrates deeper into the stratum corneum with a quick and faster release of prolonged moisturisation.

Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is suitable for all skin types, and can be used as often as needed all over the face.

It can be used as a facial moisturiser twice a day; as a moisture enhancer applied over regular moisturiser; as a midday moisturiser applied over make-up; or as a five-minute facial mask.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief’s main active ingredients are Trehalose and Sorbitol, sugar-derived substances that penetrate the skin and help retain moisture. They adapt well to differing levels of humidity and dryness, which is a major feature of Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief itself. Hydrolyzed Extensin also acts as a buffer between environmental and heat/moisture changes and the effects they have on the skin, and works to keep the skin hydrated at an optimal level.

Hyaluronic acid is also included in Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, and this acts as a wrinkle-filler while working to create a barrier to retain the skin’s moisture. Betula Alba and Lady’s Thistle Fruit extracts increases the skin’s strength, and aloe leaf water increases the skin’s affinity for water, encouraging it to retain more. Lastly, Dimethicone acts as a “skin cushion”, and acts as a lubricant.

This refreshingly hydrating gel has been my favourite since it was launched in the 90′s ( its predecessor ). I like the versatility of it – a moisturiser, a booster, a mask & an eye gel. This very basic, fragrance free, irritant free gel is a great moisture magnet; It really sorts out seriously dehydrated skin in minutes, bathing the upper layer of my skin with ample hydration.

The new version of moisture surge does exactly what it predecessor did – quenching skin thirst and acting as a moisture reservoir for continuous skin hydration & comfort; The new version, Moisture Surge ETR also turns into a semi – matte, powdery finish thanks to the silicones technology, provides a primed surface for smooth make up application. ( The older version tends to leave a sticky residue behind )

I regard Moisture Surge ETR as a rescue remedy for dehydrated skin, it’s a staple in my emergency tool kit.

Blue Is The New Black

Posted on

Inspired by Jade’s dress ( jadepaloma.wordpress.com ), I am in my blue phase at the moment; loving ultramarines, turquoise, navy, teal……

A subtle way to wear blue on your face is to use blue mascara , teal kohl pencil.

For the show stoppers, you should venture into the blue eyeshadows zone ( caution ; not for civilians, ie beginners ). Use a graduation of blue hues on your lids; dress your lashes in violet, finish your look with beige or coral for a neo 60′s  retro chic.

I loves Lunasol’s blue eye palette. Don’t forget your nails, paint them in this season IT  shade – Tiffany blue / Robin egg blue.

Guerlain, Kanebo, Kate & M.A.C. have palettes of lovely blue eyeshadow to suit every budget.

LPB officially declares blue is the new black this summer.

Couple these ultra cool shades with a stunning deep tan for a marvellous style ( again, check out Jade’s photo and you will appreciate what I am talking about )

What’s your favourite blue eyeshadows / nail varnish ?
